Statewide Data Management and Streamlining

Working in partnership with the California Department of Public Health, the hospital associations have developed the COVID-19 Tracking Tool for collecting relevant hospital information. CDPH requires hospitals to report data via the tracking tool, and CDPH then shares the information with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services — allowing hospitals to meet both federal and state reporting requirements without duplicating data entry. We continue to support hospitals with:

  • Direct communication with state and federal leaders on changing data requirements

  • Facilitating and streamlining data requests

  • Ongoing updates to designated contacts at member hospitals and health systems, and staff available to address data-related inquiries
